Fillers We Use for Liquid Rhinoplasty
Not every filler is appropriate for the nose. I select the filler based on what area of the nose we are treating and how long you want the results to last.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane)
These are the most commonly used fillers for liquid rhinoplasty. They integrate smoothly into tissue, are easy to mold during injection, and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. Results last about 9 to 18 months. Best for patients who want to try liquid rhinoplasty for the first time or want the safety net of reversibility.
Radiesse
Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler that is thicker and provides more structural support than hyaluronic acid fillers. I use it specifically for bridge elevation because it holds its shape well and can create a more defined nasal bridge. Results last 12 to 24 months. It is not reversible, so I typically recommend this for patients who have had liquid rhinoplasty before and know what results they want.
Bellafill
Bellafill is a longer-lasting option that stimulates your body's own collagen production over time. Results can last several years. It is best for patients who are certain about the changes they want and do not want to come back for repeat treatments every year. Bellafill requires an experienced injector because it is not easily reversed.
What to Expect During Your Liquid Rhinoplasty
Before the Procedure
We start with a consultation where I examine your nose, discuss what you want to change, and determine whether liquid rhinoplasty can achieve it. I take photos before and immediately after the procedure. If we move forward, the treatment can often be done the same day as your consultation.
During the Procedure
I apply a topical numbing cream to your nose for about 15 minutes. Then I inject small amounts of filler at precise points using a fine needle. The entire injection process takes about 10 to 20 minutes. You may feel slight pressure but most patients say it is much more comfortable than they expected. I shape the filler as I go, making real-time adjustments until the contour looks right.
After the Procedure
You can look in the mirror and see the result right away. There may be mild redness or slight swelling at the injection points, but most patients leave looking essentially normal. No bandages, no splint, no bruising in most cases. In some situations, I apply tape to the nose making sure the filler stays in the area for the first 24 hours. You can go back to work, go out to dinner, or continue your day.
Recovery and Downtime After Liquid Rhinoplasty
This is one of the biggest advantages of the non-surgical approach. There is essentially no recovery.
Day 1: Mild swelling or redness at injection sites. This usually resolves within hours. You can apply makeup if needed.
Days 2 to 3: Any residual swelling settles. Your final result is fully visible.
Weeks 1 to 2: Avoid heavy glasses or sunglasses that put pressure on the bridge. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. No rubbing or massaging the nose.
That is it. No time off work. No hiding at home for weeks. Most patients schedule their liquid rhinoplasty during a lunch break.

Finally, many patients do not know that Radiesse and Bellafill are options for the nose. Most med spas only offer Juvederm or Restylane. If you want longer-lasting results, those are not your only choices. Radiesse is excellent for bridge elevation and lasts over a year. Bellafill can last several years.
